Human Resources Manager – Henderson, NV

Summary of Duties:

To oversee the general operations of the Human Resources department tasks including but not limited to: Employee Relations, Legal Compliance & Administrative Hearings, Policies & Procedures, Compensation, Safety, Internal Promotions, Terminations and Reductions in Workforce, Benefits, 401(k), Worker’s Compensation, Leaves of Absence, HRIS, Recruiting, Orientation, and Job Descriptions.

Essential functions:

  • To provide support and coaching to the Company’s managers in all areas of HR, including procedures, compliance, employee discipline, terminations, and general problem resolution assistance.
  • To provide guidance to management team on company policies.
  • To assist with the development and subsequent administration of corporate Policies and Procedures
  • To oversee the audit of payroll before transmission
  • To assist department managers with employment interviews.
  • To oversee the preparation of reports for management as requested, and to provide analysis and interpretation of such reports.
  • To implement and administer the Company’s Human Resources procedures.
  • To ensure the effective communication of benefits to Company’s employees.
  • To ensure effective and efficient benefits administration in concert with the compliance mandates of the Company’s carriers.
  • To deliver or otherwise ensure the delivery of the Company’s employee training programs, including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, HIPAA/OSHA Training, Management Training and other training as may be part of the Company’s training program from time to time.
  • To administer and refine the Company’s recruitment and promotion procedures in order to maintain the Company’s viability as an equal opportunity employer and compliance with local labor mandates.
  • To ensure timely and adequate staffing and recruitment occurs as needed to support the Company.
  • To assist with the development and subsequent administration of the Company’s compensation plan, including administration of the annual performance evaluation process and training therefor, ensuring accurate position descriptions and each job’s relevant position with regard to market comparisons.
  • To ensure exit interviews are completed and the termination status of each employee is documented.
  • To ensure the Company’s compliance with all labor-related laws through enforcement of relevant policies and procedures, management training, and, in the case of high risk issues, direct involvement from incident to resolution.
  • To provide an outlet for employees for information and counseling in an effort to resolve all issues obstructing effective work relationships.
  • To contribute to a fair and positive work environment as well as the Company’s positive work reputation by treating peers, superiors, subordinates, vendors and clients with courtesy, professionalism and respect.
  • To perform other duties as requested by the HR Director, CEO, and CFO.

Job Specifications (KSAs):

  • Requires extensive and specialized knowledge in Human Resources as is generally acquired through 5-7 years of corporate level Human Resources generalist experience in a medium or large company.
  • Requires strong managerial and organizational skills as is generally acquired through 3 to 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity in the Human Resources area.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business; or in lieu of such a degree, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Accounting, Sociology, or Finance, along with 2-3 additional years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity in the Human Resources area.
  • Completion of PHR/SPHR certification, or working towards such certification.
  • Requires knowledge of general HR standards.
  • Requires knowledge of general accounting and payroll practices.
  • Requires intermediate knowledge of Excel spreadsheets.
  • Requires two years of experience with ADP HRIS system.
  • Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Requires knowledge of payroll tax laws, state and federal labor laws and IRS rules as they pertain to payroll and taxation filing requirements, and wage & hour requirements.
  • Ability to work in office environment, including working in a seated position for 7+ hours per day.
  • Ability to lift or move boxes of files weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Requires ability to manage multiple job assignments under varying degrees of pressure (usually from deadlines), strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to make informed, well thought-out decisions.
  • Requires proven ability to work well in a team situation, functioning in leadership, implementation, or any other role assigned.
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to benchmark workplace civility and promote a positive work environment.
  • Requires strong computer competency, including HRIS, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
